Kuala Lumpur Malaysia ~ Day 1 (part 2)

Here is part 2 of our Day 1 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia...

Re-charged and ready to mingle :D

First order of business, meet our Malaysian friends.

We were not ready for anything heavy, so we decided a high tea treat at the hotel would be perfect.  Teatime at the Pavillion Hotel CourtYard Restaurant was both elegant and obviously meticulously crafted (all halal).

Menu includes:

>Cold: crab meat, deviled egg and smoked salmon;

>Warm: tandoori chicken, salmon puff, mushroom cheese tart, golden fried prawn;

>Dessert: assorted Malay kuih (steamed tara cakes), Magnum brownie, banana cake and mango pudding.

and comes with refillable coffee or tea.

I never had one favorite as I liked them all!

I think we spent hours here enjoying the service and catching up!

Fully energized, we braved our way out of the hotel (our first time on our own in Malaysia without a guide) and to the Petronas Tower.  We missed this portion of our Day Tour earlier, but I think there is an unwritten rule that the Petronas Tower is a must (LOL) see on a Day 1, when you arrive in KL!

If you missed our Day1 KL Part 1, you can check it here: >>>>> Day 1 in KL

The Pavillion Hotel links to the Pavillion Mall which is connected by a covered walkway to Suria KLCC Mall (which is literally a shopping mall at the foot of Petronas Tower).   We simply followed the posted directions and found ourselves at the KLCC Park, then Suria Mall within 15 minutes easy paced walk.

(I found this guide in Youtube and it was quite helpful >>> Pavillion Mall to Suria KLCC)

Passed by the KLCC Convention Center, the KLCC Park just outside.

The Suria Mall Dancing Fountain...

The Petronas Towers at Night
(Check out our Malaysia Day 3 - we've visited the Petronas Towers at daytime as well)

From the Petronas Towers, we've re-traced our way back to Bukit Bintang to check out another tourists' magnet, Jalan Alor Street food.  Now this one is ease, upon exiting the walkway, we went headed to Bukit Bintang street and simply followed the crowd (LOL)!

This is us following the crowd :D

Lo and behold, the famous Jalan Alor Street Food...

Our eyes about to burst from the smorgasbord of food.

We finally settled for Meng Kee Grill Fish restaurant.

An order for 2 costs about MYR 10-15.

We ordered...

 Oyster Omelet

Chicken Satay

Char Kuey Teow

Dragon fruit shake filled up the remaining space in our tummies.

 Everything is spot on.

My husband likes Johor Alor a whole lot, that we just had to come back a second time (on our 3rd night in KL)

This time we order:

Malaysian Chicken Wings

Laksa

Singapore Beehon

Day 1 ends here.  Follow our Day 2 in Malaysia up Cameron Highlands.
