Day 3 is Panglao Island Tour

This tour includes a visit to the Bohol Bee Farm, Hinagdanan Cave, Panglao Church, Watch tower, Dauis Church and Alona Beach.

Hinagdanan Cave

The cave was accidentally discovered when the owner while clearing the area. 

He threw a stone into the hole and heard a splash. The owner built a make-shift ladder to enter the cave, and henced its name "Hinagdanan" (laddered).

At the Panglao Beach  ~  We honestly find Panglao Beach a tad crowded for us.  

We prefer private beach front of South Palms Resort.  

We only dropped by for photos and head back to our hotel.

This resort is growing on me... it is so serene and peaceful!  

We haven't left yet, and already I want to plan our return.

Wow Bohol - Day 1

Bohol is a paradise known for its white-sand beaches, islands and diving sites.  It has been about a decade since my last visit to Bohol and I am really excited to be back.  This time though, it will be just me and my husband. We left the boys at home with the grandparents.  

Day 1 

Bohol is an hour and 30 minutes flight via Panglao International airport.  I am pleasantly surprised that Bohol airport has been upgraded.  It clean, spacious and nicely ventilated.   

We maximized our trip by bunding our airport pick-up with the Country-side tour.  As this is already our second time in Bohol, we skipped the other tourists' sites and decided to do the ATV ride by the Chocolate Hills and the enchanting Loboc river cruise.

First stop was the ATV ride.  

Compared to our Mayon ATV ride, which was quite rocky, Chocolate Hills ATV experience was chocolatey...  

It rained quite a bit that morning and the trails was quite muddy.  We liked it that way though as the weather was cool and navigating through the muddy trail was ha-ha-funny!     

This explains why they call the famous Bohol hills as CHOCOLATE HILLS!

Lunch at the Loboc River Cruise ~ hearty and filling with live music entertainment.

Tired from our early morning flight we decided to finish the tour early and head back to our home away from home in Bohol ~ The South Palms Resort Panglao.

Alona Beach Panglao Bohol

ALONA in my mind....

ALONA BEACH is located in Panglao Bohol and happens to be one of its top beaches.

 According to the locals, the beach got its name from Alona Alegre,  a Filipina sexy actress from the 70's.  She must be so proud to have this piece of paradise named after her.

Three words - sun, water and sand!!!

Beautiful Balicasag

First in our itinerary is Balicasag Island.  BALICASAG ISLAND is a dive island, and is for a fact named as one of the best dive resorts in the country.   The sand, however, is quite rocky (with broken sea shells), if you are not careful could end you with a date Mr. Betadine.  It was good we came prepared and got everyone beach shoes.

My son,  insisted he bring his beach toys all the way from Manila. 
It saved me a few hundred pesos.  The only place to get beach toys here is at Alona Beach, which is quite expensive.

We left Balicasag early, since we were not enjoying the beach as much and decided to go to our next island VIRGIN ISLAND.



It was still low tide and quite difficult to navigate the boat. The corals and sea rocks were just a few feet deep and one wrong move,  might cause the bottom of the boat to hit one of those rocks or corals :C  underneath.



Finally Virgin Island in sight!

 VIRGIN ISLAND is one of the many islands  in Bohol.  It is a lovely crescent shape island bar.  I  My family liked this one, better than Balicasag.  Sand is so fine, we just had to take of our beach shoes.
