Day 6 in Seoul ~ DIY of Seoul (National Museum of Korea, Hondae, Trick Eye Museum, Jump Show)

Day 6 in Seoul is a DIY Day :P

We again went from being tourists to "being nearly lost tourists" (lol)!

We left our Hotel in Myeongdong (We stayed at the Metro Hotel, click here to check out, our home sweet home in Seoul >>> Metro Hotel) at about 9:30am and took the Subway (Line 4 from Myeongdong Station to Ichon Station) to the National Museum of Korea

The National Museum of Korea is huge and has very good collection of Korean artifacts and relics from neighboring Asian countries.  It is a big place and one could easily spend at least 3 hours (or more) to get a full appreciation of the museum.

The boys love the War Memorial of Korea more though with War Memorial's impressive collection of warships and aircrafts (Check this link to see our trip to the War Memorial Korea).

We left the museum at 11:30am for our next stop, Trick Eye Museum in Hondae.  We took a taxi and was at Hondae after 15 minutes, the trip costs us about W8000  (the Subway option, though cheaper will take about 40 minutes, plus a good amount of walking).

We got our Trick Eye with Ice Museum passes through Klook. I have been booking through it for sometime now and find it very efficient.   Click here for Klook booking discount for first time users: Klook Discount Code

Seoul's Trick Eye is special as it is interactive (Guests are asked to download the Trick Eye Application, that enables the art to come to life ~ well not literally!)

Check out these pictures and videos of #TeamPetillaWreakingHavocAtTrickEye.

Next to the Trick Eye is The Ice Museum
Well actually it was just like a huge refrigerator room with ice sculptures.  It was freezing inside the Ice Museum at -5 degrees.

From the Trick Eye, we walked to the Hongkik University Station (Subway Line 2) to the next item in our agenda, The Jump Show at the Myungbo Art Hall located Euljiro3-ga Station.

The show is a comedy-love story-martial arts show about a special family (who as you might have guessed are all into martial arts).  My boys love every minute of the show and were laughing out so loud. I think they were actually sad it ended.

There you go, Our DIY Day 6 in Seoul.

Day 7 is  a trip to one of Seoul's well loved theme park ~  EVERLAND.

  1. There are so many branches of Tricky Eye Museum. I haven't visited pa nga yung branch here in the Philippines. The National Museum looks nice, free entrance?

  2. The war memorial is more than an educational place. It's a nice way to revisit history especially if you are not part of it but is very much interested to know the details. I am curious about that comedy loce story in martial arts.

  4. Oooh, I love this entertainment part of your trip. That show sounds interesting, my kids would most likely enjoy the martial arts performances in it. (I'm a stage play addict!)

Trick eye also looks so much fun. But ang galing nung Ice Museum ha, may slide!

  5. We love the museums in Korea, too - especially the War Memorial. Back in 2016 we had the chance to go to a special exhibition at the NMK. It featured Egyptian artifacts, and we were able to see a real mummy. The experience was surreal! :)

  6. So brave of you to do DIY itinerary. When we vacation abroad or out of town, we always get the services of a tour guide. TIngin ko mas exciting at di hamak na makakamura talaga kapag DIY e.

    1. On the contrary our DIY sometimes ends up more expensive than joining group tours. In DIY though we only go to attractions we ard interested in, we dont need to rush around with a group of tourists and we really get to enjoy and experience the attractions at our own pace.

  12. DIY-ing a day of travel sounds like a great way to go about it. The War Museum sure looks like an interesting and educational place for little boys to visit. I sure hope I can go there with my boys one day soon.
