I was on a hunt for an affordable place to stay in Makati on a Christmas time weekend that is walking distance to Ayala Triangle, as we planned to view Ayala's Festival of Lights Show.
I found the perfect place in a group buying site ~ Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences for a little over P4000 inclusive of breakfast.
Theming drew inspiration from Pablo Picasso. The rooms are named after places in Pablo Picasso's life. Paintings and art adorns the hotel lobby and rooms ~ you would begin to wonder whether you are in a hotel or just stepped into an art gallery.
We booked a Malaga Studio Room.
Our room theming is inspired by an abstract deep yellow painting.
L-R/T-B: (1) There is a balcony that opens to the road down below; (2) The inspiration painting for our room; (3) A full study area with free wifi; (4) Decent sized and really comfortable beds
L-R (1) Complimentary coffee and tea; (2) a good selection of cable channels; (3) Safety deposit box.
Clean and spacious rain shower bathroom.
My son loved that the place is located just a minute away from the Salcedo Park.
(Note: The park turns into a fair/market Saturdays from 7am to 2pm. We have been to the Salcedo Market and there are real wonderful finds for foodies)
VERDICT:
- Picasso is a chic accommodation in the heart of Makati. The place is perfect for business travelers who need to be at the Makati Central Business District in a jiffy.
- The place is impeccably clean and stylishly designed.
- Location is about 15-20 minutes walk to the closest shopping center. But has numerous dining places close by.
- Service is excellent. Check-in and check-out fast and efficient.
- Breakfast at Pablo's came free with our accommodation. Breakfast is filling and comes with refillable coffee and open bread, salad bar. But with limited options and a bit expensive if not included in your room package
- Unfortunately there is no pool. But it does have a spa, a gym and an art gallery. Picasso has a small art gallery ~ Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea, which was a refreshing stop for me and the boys.

Sayang walang pool! We love staycations but my kids wants to have a swim always, kaya we need a pool.. I might consider this for some manila business trip next tym :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI was also sad they have no pool. A pool would have been perfect for the kids.
DeleteGreat price package for that area.

Hi Cris, place is wonderful. Well worth considering if you are looking for a comfortable weekend stay at the Makati Central Business District. Highly recommended.
DeleteI've been wanting to staycation there!!! I love the location, and the fact that it's a really short walk away from the Makati weekend markets. I just can never score a good deal on rates. You're lucky.
ReplyDeleteHi Sis, I think I just saw a discounted rate via DealGrocer.com. Check it out.
DeleteThis is one great deal considering its proximity to diners and shopping centers. My boys though are always looking forward to swimming when in staycation but still the place is recommendable. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Though our agenda when we stayed was a trip to the Ayala Light Festival, which was just a short walk from Picasso.
DeleteAng ganda naman dito mommy Juvy, and ganda din ng view from balcony, fresh din siguro ang hangin jan noh?
ReplyDeleteMakati is scenic pag weekend - konti lang motorists. We love going there weekend and holiday it is like a different place - quiet and slow paced.
DeleteUn nga lang walang pool pero it looks nice Im sure magaganda din yung mga paintings na display.
ReplyDeleteI think the gallery is open even to non residents. I will try to check and update my post. The gallery is a bit small but the exhibits are very good.
DeleteAng ganda ng room, mukhang bago pa lang. Medyo di kasi ako mahilig mag staycation pero irerecommend ko to sa friends ko.
ReplyDeleteYes it is nice. Malinis and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommendable.
Deletesayang walang pool.. would have been better kung meron :)
ReplyDeleteI know. Well the gallery and a trip to the Salcedo Market is a good trade off though.😊
DeleteThis one's a gem! it's a hotel and a gallery in one. Thanks for the review. And yes, a pool would have been great.
ReplyDeleteHi Nini! You got it right it is a gem. Highly recommendable.
DeleteSana they will consider to add pool. For families with kids kasi, this is a plus factor.
ReplyDeleteNice! Perfect pang-weekend staycation without having to escape the city!
