Loving Azalea Residences

I was truly amazed at how much more we got for only a little over P2,000.
I initially reserved a deluxe room with no view, but got an email from our booking agent, that we have been upgraded to a with view room (talk about luck!), inclusive of  "buffet" breakfast for two.
It was a true bargain!
Charming escape in Baguio

I was pleased to see the place.  Room was huge, decent and new!
The room has a kitchenette - a working kitchen and comes complete with utensils and dinning wares.  There is also a full size refrigerator, glass stove tops and microwave oven.
The place is  perfect for vacationing big families who wants to save a little by cooking instead of dining out.

Our deluxe room (with kitchenette, dining and seating area).
Bathroom was basic, but spic and span. They were likewise fairly generous with the toiletries.

This grand fountain was a hit with my kids!

Play ground was small, but my boy ain't complaining.

Lovely well kept garden surrounds the mini play ground!

The view from our room.
Azalea Residences Hotel's location is a little difficult to find and we got lost looking for it.
Tip: The hotel is located on the other side of the Botanical Garden. Also don't hesitate to ask for directions, locals will be more than happy to assist.
Since it is located outside Baguio's center, it is free from noise and pollution. Azalea's Location is ideal for some real quiet R&R.  Getting around is not a problem, since taxis are plenty and may even be coursed through the hotel front desk.
Food was just okay,  there were few choices, but we are fine with that.  With the money we spent, we weren't really expecting much.
If you are looking for  a safe and clean place to stay, while in Baguio ~ without having to shell out that much cash,  Azalea is highly recommended!!!

Azalea Residences is located at #7 Leonard Wood Loop, Bgy. M. Roxas, Baguio City 2600, Philippines | Phone Number: +632 579 4890

Day 4 in Seoul (A Private Tour : Seoul ~ Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island)

Our Day 4 in South Korea was in the outskirt of Seoul ~ Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do.  As it was a little difficult to reach I contacted, "This is Korea" Tours to customize a private tour for my family.

Andy, our Tour Specialist (TS) cum driver and photographer picked us up at the Metro Hotel at 11am as agreed.  It was an easy ride on board a 7-seater limousine van for our family of 4.

Our tour was personalized based on what we wanted so long as the entire trip is all within the 10 hours we've commissioned.  For our trip, we've decided on Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island.

Sanjeong Lake is situated between Myeongseongsan and Mangbongsan Mountain.  Its name means "as clear as a mountain well". It was built in 1925 as a reservoir to supply to farmlands in Pocheon.

Reached Sanjeong Lake Park early afternoon ~ perfect weather for a cup of hot coffee

Lots of things to do in the lake park.  We took a paddle boat and walked the lake promenade.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Kingdom Club

We wanted a special holiday with the kids (they are growing up so fast) and decided to welcome 2018 in Hong Kong Disneyland.  It has after all been 5 years since we have last been to Hong Kong.  Though we were recently in Tokyo Disneyland, the volume of guests was heartbreakingly huge ~ to truly enjoy the park.

Check here our Visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea last 2016 >>> Tokyo Disneyland  and >>> Tokyo Disney Sea

We booked a 3 nights stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and opted for an upgrade to the Kingdom Club floor.

The elegant service and perks is well worth the additional cost.

Club Level BenefitsComplimentary Deli at Kingdom Club Lounge (730am to 10pm) which includes assorted fresh pastries, cereal, fruit, hot breakfast selections and beverages in the morning; Selection of scrumptious appetizers with your choice of complimentary beer and wine late afternoon and light snacks night time.

A Disney character in pajamas visits the lounge at 8pm, where …

Day 2 in Seoul - Part I (War Memorial of Korea, Grevin Wax Museum and the funny Nanta Show)

"Joh-eun achim (Good Morning) Seoul"
Our Day 2 in Seoul is a DIY using Seoul's public transportation.
After a hearty complimentary breakfast at Metro Hotel, we made our way to Myeongdong Station and headed to the first item in our itinerary.

The War Memorial of Korea
The museum is easily accessible via Subway Line 4 through Samgakji Station, Exit 12.

If you have limited time to tour Seoul and want to see at least one of the city's museums, I highly recommend visiting the War Memorial.  We also visited the National Museum of Korea and liked the War Memorial better.
We spent hours touring the Outdoor Exhibition Area alone. The warships and aircrafts exhibition is truly remarkable. This particular ship is a replica of the Korean Naval Vessel PKM 357, which was involved in bloody naval battle between North and South Korea in 2002.
