We just found our favorite Hotel in Quezon City ~ Here is a look at Novotel Hotel

Last year, we bought a Novotel Hotel voucher for an overnight stay in a Superior Room with buffet breakfast for two adults and two children (15 years old and below).  We got it for only P3999 (I know right? It was super affordable) which was Novotel's exclusive promotion for the 27th Philippine Travel Mart.

We finally got to use it, when we attended a birthday party near the area, and decided on an impromptu staycation (well not really since I had to call reservations a day before)...

Welcome to Novotel Hotel our new favorite staycation hotel in Quezon City!

My little man wondering what is inside these "ampao".

They have ample parking spaces at the hotel basement ~ we parked easy and proceeded to the lobby for check-in.

Check-in was a breeze.
I was handed the room key cards in a matter of minutes.

Our Room is spic and span!

We had a Superior Room with 2 single beds and a sofa (The room is about 29 sqm., quite small to accommodate an additional bed.
It was fine though, since my 12 year old fits okay on the sofa).

The bathroom is separated by a floor to ceiling glass wall... don't fret there is a roll down cover!

Regular sized separate toilet and bath (oh and there is a bidet too).

Room staples includes coffee and tea making facility and mini bar (drinks and snacks are priced reasonably too, but for "tipid mode" there is grocery store "Shopwise" located just across the street).

A safety deposit box for your valuables.

Cotton robes and slippers

Eco-friendly toiletries

We were given, 30 minutes play time at the hotel's  Kids Club, extension play cost P250/hour.

The play room is open from 10am to 6pm.

The place is clean and spacious. It is carpeted and visitors would be asked to wear socks for hygienic purposes.

What about some relax time watching their favorite cartoon.

Meanwhile, busy bodies would surely have their fill swimming inside the ball room.

Surprise, surprise! There is hidden room to house bigger kids ~ with a computer and an Xbox.  We were the only one there at the time, so my boy had these all to himself.

"Yipee, the X-box is all his.."

When we finished his complimentary 30mins Kid's Play, we proceeded outdoor to check out the children's playground and pool (they have two actually, a kiddie pool and an adult pool).

I am really loving the use of Novotel's outdoor space. Really family and child friendly.

Our package comes with buffet breakfast for 2  adults and 2 children (age up to 15 years old).  How wonderful is that?  In other hotels, we would shell out P500-P1000 for additional breakfast for my boys (ages 8 and 12).

Take note that the buffet spread is awesome ~ they obviously did not skimped!  They even have gourmet cheese, cold cuts, about 10-12 choices of dishes, salad bar, fresh fruit juices... service was equally remarkable!

After breakfast we headed to the pool area.

The place is perfect for lounging.

My son enjoying a (cold) dip!  It was really cold, but there is no stopping this boy from enjoying the water.

Literally Enjoying...

My family loves Novotel ~ a true family friendly hotel located in the heart of Araneta Center (spelled S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G).

We are sad we had to leave, a day stay is just not enough!
We are definitely coming back!

Visit Novotel Hotel and experience for yourself its warm service and impressive amenities.

  1. Your son is like my daughter when we are in a hotel. Most of her time is spent in the pool. Water babies. 😂

    1. Hahaha, we actually had a hard time making him leave the pool. 😎

  2. We've been meaning to visit this hotel because we had quote a number of points to spend from our Accor Club membership. Glad i read about this here. I love the kids club! Novotels around the world are quite a good choice for families. Maybe i should book this for my daughter's bday soon!

  3. Wee! I love staycation! Super cozy yung place at nice deal yung price for a superior room! I can see that your family surely had a great time ;))

    1. I know right, the price was really something. I hope I can get another such deal in the future.

  4. Another staycation post! How I wished we can also schedule a family staycation. Good thing they enjoyed the 30 minute play and not ask for time extension. As for my kids, I'm sure that 30min. wasn't enough for them.

  5. Ok, you got me at the kid's play area, game centers and the outside playground and pool. I like hotels with that kind of facilities because it's very rare to see one with that. :) I do wish every hotel has that so kids won't get bored. :)

  6. Oh the price is quite affordable na for 4 persons, sulit na sya kasi may breakfast pa.

    1. Sulit talaga Sis! Free breakfast is for children up to 15 years old. In order hotels, kids age up to 12 only and they charge 8 year olds half price na.

  7. Wow ang ganda ng Novotel. I love that they have a very colorful and spacious playroom. My son will surely love to run around and play in that place. Hopefully we'll get to experience Novotel's accommodation soon!

  8. Thanks for sharing this. We're planning to have a staycation this year, request ng eldest ko. I got an idea rin na magtingin ng vouchers online para maka-save :)

  9. Wow dami pwede gawin! And quite affordable, too! Keeping this in mind for my next travel!

  10. I've been wanting to try Novotel. That was a great deal you got there. :) I love the kids club and the bathroom. I'm a sucker for nice bathrooms.

  11. I've read about Novotel in another blog. And yeah, the feedback on the buffet is great. I like hotels with great buffets. Kaya lang QC. :/

  12. Wow the toiletries are exactly the same as those used by Novotel Kuala Lumpur!

  13. Wow, I like the palyrooms! I'm sure they're a hit with all the kids!

  14. Wow on the kids play area of Novotel! Thanks for the great review, we might have a staycation there too.

  15. Novotel has been our favorite hideaway place since 2016. It has something goid to offer for all the members of the family.

  16. wow
isama ko toh sa list ko ng hotel hopping namin
malapit pa, no need to spend so much on transpo

  17. Novotel is for the whole family, hindi lang parents ang mag-eenjoy but especially kids

  18. Wow P3999 is not a bad deal for what you got. I hope that deal is still available. Would love to take my family there.

  19. I have been seeing a lot of people posting photos of Novotel. Looks promising. Araneta did a great job with Novotel and the whole Araneta Center. So many improvements!

  20. Staycation! By the looks of it, the boys enjoyed their time. How much would this stay be by retail price/published rate?

    1. Rates of Superior Room with breakfast via Traveloka is about P5800.

  21. I wish all hotels have a play room like that of Novotel for big and small kids alike so that children will have more things to do during a family staycation. I also smiled when you mentioned "tipid mode" because we are always like that when spending a night at a hotel. We always buy snacks outside. Lol! -- Maria Teresa Figuerres

  22. I love the CR! Hahaha. When I look for a hotel, I always make sure that the CR is clean :) Have to check it out. I badly need a staycation :))

  23. The kids room is not free in Makati Diamond Residence, Sesa Nuvali, Somerset Alabang, Vivere its free na and unlimited during your stay. I've been to Novotel to attend party and exhibit lang maganda ang pool area nil. Thanks for sharing the room now I have an idea na

    1. The play room is just secondary though. I was more excited about the location which is just a hop away shopping centers :P

  24. Wow. I've been in this hotel but haven't got a chance or desire to check-in since I have no idea what to expect. But after reading this I am keen to staying here very soon. Thanks (Macy)

  25. 3999, nice! I hope we can get that kind of deal din someday :-)

  26. Wow! that fee is a steal. My mom will be celebrating her birthday on the 25th and I am looking for hotels where we could stay for the night. She deserves even a night of rest. Even on weekends kasi she would be busy cleaning the house or doing anything. I will check Novotel and I hope they still offer that kind of rate (or mas maganda mas mababa, heheeh)

    Thanks for the lead.

  27. Wow@ i super love the play area! Everything looks nice!

Sana kmi dn mkapg staycation jn dow a bit malayo heje

Hope u had a wonderful stay!

  28. It sure looks like everyone had a might fine time! The place looks lavish and a delight to experience. I've only been to Novotel's lobby and it was indeed grand. I look forward to staycationing there with my boys one of these days.

  29. I like the concept of the bathroom, very modern. Sayang lang because you have to pay for the Kids Club for the succeeding hours, it should be free for the guests :)

    1. You are right, a free Kids Club for stay-in guest would have been wonderful. The complimentary play hours though was enough for us.

Day 4 in Seoul (A Private Tour : Seoul ~ Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island)

Our Day 4 in South Korea was in the outskirt of Seoul ~ Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do.  As it was a little difficult to reach I contacted, "This is Korea" Tours to customize a private tour for my family.

Andy, our Tour Specialist (TS) cum driver and photographer picked us up at the Metro Hotel at 11am as agreed.  It was an easy ride on board a 7-seater limousine van for our family of 4.

Our tour was personalized based on what we wanted so long as the entire trip is all within the 10 hours we've commissioned.  For our trip, we've decided on Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island.

Sanjeong Lake is situated between Myeongseongsan and Mangbongsan Mountain.  Its name means "as clear as a mountain well". It was built in 1925 as a reservoir to supply to farmlands in Pocheon.

Reached Sanjeong Lake Park early afternoon ~ perfect weather for a cup of hot coffee

Lots of things to do in the lake park.  We took a paddle boat and walked the lake promenade.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Kingdom Club

We wanted a special holiday with the kids (they are growing up so fast) and decided to welcome 2018 in Hong Kong Disneyland.  It has after all been 5 years since we have last been to Hong Kong.  Though we were recently in Tokyo Disneyland, the volume of guests was heartbreakingly huge ~ to truly enjoy the park.

Check here our Visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea last 2016 >>> Tokyo Disneyland  and >>> Tokyo Disney Sea

We booked a 3 nights stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and opted for an upgrade to the Kingdom Club floor.

The elegant service and perks is well worth the additional cost.

Club Level BenefitsComplimentary Deli at Kingdom Club Lounge (730am to 10pm) which includes assorted fresh pastries, cereal, fruit, hot breakfast selections and beverages in the morning; Selection of scrumptious appetizers with your choice of complimentary beer and wine late afternoon and light snacks night time.

A Disney character in pajamas visits the lounge at 8pm, where …

Day 2 in Seoul - Part I (War Memorial of Korea, Grevin Wax Museum and the funny Nanta Show)

"Joh-eun achim (Good Morning) Seoul"
Our Day 2 in Seoul is a DIY using Seoul's public transportation.
After a hearty complimentary breakfast at Metro Hotel, we made our way to Myeongdong Station and headed to the first item in our itinerary.

The War Memorial of Korea
The museum is easily accessible via Subway Line 4 through Samgakji Station, Exit 12.

If you have limited time to tour Seoul and want to see at least one of the city's museums, I highly recommend visiting the War Memorial.  We also visited the National Museum of Korea and liked the War Memorial better.
We spent hours touring the Outdoor Exhibition Area alone. The warships and aircrafts exhibition is truly remarkable. This particular ship is a replica of the Korean Naval Vessel PKM 357, which was involved in bloody naval battle between North and South Korea in 2002.
