  2. OMG! I love staycations with my family and Marco Polo is one of those that I am eyeing as our next hotel destination. I spy on that strips of bacon on your breakfast plate, that already is SOLD to me! Will check the rates, hopefully they have room promos soon! :)

  3. I've been visiting Marco Polo for my events but haven't got a change t stay here even for a night. I love your room especially the spacious bathroom. I wonder if they have a pool which is good for a family staycation. (macy santos)

  4. Ahh love the view from your room! Plus the bathroom is so huge! Ang saya!! Hehe! Hoping to have staycation this yr! :)

  5. Oh I love staycations! I think the view from your hotel makes you really wanna enjoy the moment inside the cozy room. Happy anniversary ;)

  6. I love staycations as well as a getaway! Oooh! A bathtub is now a must for us when we book. The kids love it!

  7. I've been here last month for a meeting at their cafe. And i attended an event too some time last november. I've checked their rates and its quite ok. We're planning to have an staycation here but when my kids learned that they don't have a pool they said they don't like it, hehehe!

  8. Marco Polo and Crown Towers have the same toiletries and both have capsule coffee machine. May I know how much is their rate per night?

  9. We were supposed to check in at Marco Polo for my birthday last year, but my husband opted to get a hotel in Laguna. They have the same price point - we hoped we went for MP instead!

    1. There is always another special occasion to celebrate 😉.

  10. Happy wedding Aniversary sis. You deserve to celebrate your wedd Aniv with this beautiful place the Marco Polo hotel. Indeed their club looks so great and very relaxing.

  12. The view is awesome! Looks like a place where one can truly unwind!

  13. this hotel looks nice. and it has a bathtub! yey! I like hotels with bathtub e... something we dont have at home ahaha

  14. The club room is so nice, minimal amount lang ba ang upgrade?

  15. I've only been to Vu's Sky bar when my husband had a Standup Comedy show there last 2015. I have yet to experience staying there for a night or two. Perfect place for some R&R.

  16. Such a nice hotel. I haven't tried checking in here, but will consider this when we decided to have a staycation. Happy anniversary! :)

  17. Marco Polo Ortigas is walking distance from our place, so hubby does not consider checking in there for our staycation because of the nearness of the place to us. It's as if we never leave the area if we decide to stay there for a night or two. But if it were all up to me, I'd love for us to go there to experience their lovely personalized service, and yes, to see their Continental Club Lounge, too. -- Maria Teresa Figuerres

  18. The ambiance looks cozy. At night, I think it's nice to view the panoramic view of the Ortigas cityscape.

  19. I love the food at Cucina and Lung Hin.

  20. The rooms look clean and lovely to rest at. How much did you spend all in all?

  21. How much is an overnight stay at Marco Polo? I agree with you on the bathroom. It does look like a place I can stay in for hours, haha!

  22. I love staycations, but since we are living in the south, we seldom do so because there are very few venues for it here. I hope hotels like Marco Polo would expand near us...

  23. We can actually see this from our window but we haven't had the chance to stay there yet. The place looks so comfy. I've been itching for a staycation since forever haha

  24. I've heard nice things about this place. Unfortunately we haven't had the chance to try it yet. But I'm looking into a staycation soon so I'll consider this. :)

  25. One of the things I love about Marco Polo is the fact it's so near and yet you feel like nasa oasis ka in the city :) I've heard so much good reviews about the place and I hope to get the chance to stay in there one day! Thank you for sharing this review!!! Really helped me to see if worth it talaga from a mom's perspective:)

  26. Looks like a beautiful place to spend a lovely evening with the family. You did not mention their rates. I would love to experience Marco Polo one of these days!

  27. I love that view so much! What I don't like about the hotel is the location, there's too much traffic before you can park there.

  28. Marco Polo in Ortigas is indeed a nice choice for a staycation. It gave us a peaceful sleep plus the food they serve is just superb.

Day 4 in Seoul (A Private Tour : Seoul ~ Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island)

Our Day 4 in South Korea was in the outskirt of Seoul ~ Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do.  As it was a little difficult to reach I contacted, "This is Korea" Tours to customize a private tour for my family.

Andy, our Tour Specialist (TS) cum driver and photographer picked us up at the Metro Hotel at 11am as agreed.  It was an easy ride on board a 7-seater limousine van for our family of 4.

Our tour was personalized based on what we wanted so long as the entire trip is all within the 10 hours we've commissioned.  For our trip, we've decided on Sanjeong Lake, Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island.

Sanjeong Lake is situated between Myeongseongsan and Mangbongsan Mountain.  Its name means "as clear as a mountain well". It was built in 1925 as a reservoir to supply to farmlands in Pocheon.

Reached Sanjeong Lake Park early afternoon ~ perfect weather for a cup of hot coffee

Lots of things to do in the lake park.  We took a paddle boat and walked the lake promenade.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Kingdom Club

We wanted a special holiday with the kids (they are growing up so fast) and decided to welcome 2018 in Hong Kong Disneyland.  It has after all been 5 years since we have last been to Hong Kong.  Though we were recently in Tokyo Disneyland, the volume of guests was heartbreakingly huge ~ to truly enjoy the park.

Check here our Visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea last 2016 >>> Tokyo Disneyland  and >>> Tokyo Disney Sea

We booked a 3 nights stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and opted for an upgrade to the Kingdom Club floor.

The elegant service and perks is well worth the additional cost.

Club Level BenefitsComplimentary Deli at Kingdom Club Lounge (730am to 10pm) which includes assorted fresh pastries, cereal, fruit, hot breakfast selections and beverages in the morning; Selection of scrumptious appetizers with your choice of complimentary beer and wine late afternoon and light snacks night time.

A Disney character in pajamas visits the lounge at 8pm, where …

Day 2 in Seoul - Part I (War Memorial of Korea, Grevin Wax Museum and the funny Nanta Show)

"Joh-eun achim (Good Morning) Seoul"
Our Day 2 in Seoul is a DIY using Seoul's public transportation.
After a hearty complimentary breakfast at Metro Hotel, we made our way to Myeongdong Station and headed to the first item in our itinerary.

The War Memorial of Korea
The museum is easily accessible via Subway Line 4 through Samgakji Station, Exit 12.

If you have limited time to tour Seoul and want to see at least one of the city's museums, I highly recommend visiting the War Memorial.  We also visited the National Museum of Korea and liked the War Memorial better.
We spent hours touring the Outdoor Exhibition Area alone. The warships and aircrafts exhibition is truly remarkable. This particular ship is a replica of the Korean Naval Vessel PKM 357, which was involved in bloody naval battle between North and South Korea in 2002.
